An abandoned fisherman's cottage in a village on the Costa Dorada.
No one had entered the house for 30 years, which allowed us to recover many objects and textiles intact. We wanted to reuse them to restore the house's character. Everything fit together perfectly: the contemporary flooring served as a canvas for displaying old-fashioned but very practical objects, the walls were repainted using traditional whitewashing techniques, the bar was adorned with ceramics from a forgotten batch in a warehouse, the fabrics were the exact measurements needed for curtains, and everything else that was missing was found within a 30 km radius.
A local, sustainable renovation with a powerful evocative quality. Even the former owners' cousin recognized details from her childhood.
